What a beautiful, unique place. We've came here several times and always with a favorable experience. Affordable prices, good food, good service and a spectacular environment.

I would probably give the food and service four stars, which is still really good, but they get a five just for the wonderful atmosphere. This location is just so unique. Can be a little out of the way, but I think it's worth it.

Great food, excellent service, the wait staff work very hard and provide excellent service. The kitchen staff are a fine tuned machine that turns out amazing culinary works of art!

This place is cool! A refurbished barn turned into a two story restaurant. Saturday night prime rib is a must, the portions are huge. You won’t leave hungry and it’s reasonably priced.Update: things have gone down hill since this first review. The food has taken a turn for the worse, I’m not sure if they are buying lower quality ingredients or the kitchen doesn’t care but our last to visits were far less then impressive and that’s sad because the prices don’t reflect the quality. I won’t be going back.

Bill and I had dinner on a very busy Friday night. We were seated in the loft which was very cozy. Even though we were the only ones up there to begin with we were still greeted and served in a very courteous timely manner. Both of our meals were very good, Bill had the fish fillet special and he said it was the best he has had. Still raving over it the next morning. Good job Scott and Deb!

Sunday lunch. Out of tilapia, out of chicken, $6 upcharge on flat iron steak.Less than average service. Quality of food was just ok.

Family owned and operated. Amazing steak and fish dishes. Our favorite is their flat iron steak. You cannot go wrong with that, unless you're a vegetarian... But even then it can make any vegetarian come back home. Diverse beer menu including plenty of craft beer of different types. Friendly service. Great for groups. One of my favorite places in Iowa overall and my #1 favorite for atmosphere and view. Love it!

Waited 17 minutes to get a glass of water and an hour and 28 minutes to get our food. Waitresses were running around with their heads cut off without any idea of what to do and acted like they didn't want to be there. The food was very good when we got it and the place seemed pretty nice, but the service needs a complete overhaul before I'll be back. A little on the pricy side too.

Great place to experience! Worth the drive to the country. Large servings of comfort food. Tasty appetizers and desserts. They have all you can eat deals on weekends. Only complaint would be that vegetarian options are limited. Reservations aren't required but dinner hours are a hit or miss being seated right away without them. Made a reservation over Facebook messenger and they responded instantly! Will visit again!

Great food that has a fair price. The staff is great and it has the best atmosphere you can find. It's a unique location and a great place for conversation or occasion.

Very cool setting in a remodeled barn. Awesome view from the patio. A delay in getting seated and served even though the were several open booths and tables. Will make reservations next time to avoid that.

Beautiful out of the way spot. Worth the drive for the scenery. I was however disappointed in the food. The all you can eat ribs werent very good in my opinion. And the Sunday night service was much less than stellar. Honestly based on some of my friends suggestions I thought this place would be amazing and it just wasnt. I'll try it one more time and hope it was just a bad night for them.

My husband and I with another couple had reservations. When we got there we were seated outside what a gorgeous view for a sunset. We were served drinks right away even with them being very busy with lots of people there. We also ordered appetizers and they came out in a reasonable time too. Then we sat for about another hour just visiting not realizing it was getting dark and the outside patio was starting to empty out . When our waiter brought out our food . He apologized for our wait and informed us that we would get our drinks and a free desert to go when we left . We thought that was very nice of them . I will definitely tell my friends about this place. Thanks for a nice evening with friends.

Wow! Went to celebrate daughter's birthday. Super neat atmosphere, great food and service was on spot. Perfect Iowa setting with loads of Iowa nice thrown in. Had a wonderful time.

The food was wonderful. Service is great.

Atmosphere: Cool barn, not a lot of natural light in the upstairs main room. Drinks: My party ordered Moscow mules and Old Fashioned's, both were very weak and ingredient ratios were off. Food: OK, we received our salads after our entree. Service: our server was kind enough to let us move upstairs to better atmosphere.

They were so short of staff we had to have to wait forever. The food was good when we finally got it. Couldn't even get people in when they had reservations. Don't know what they pay the girl at the front desk as she worked her butt off trying to keep up

Everything was fantastic. Great drinks, great atmosphere. We have the tomahawk. Which is a smoked and grilled giant cut of ribeye. It was the best I ever had. Great meal great place

At 6:30 on Saturday night, we stopped in with no reservation, were seated immediately. Our hosts and server were excellent and very friendly. The fried cod was cooked to perfection and the Greek vegetables were amazing!

I just had the Filet Mignon, with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and French fries. I’ve traveled to a lot of places with work and leisure, and this meal was HANDS DOWN the best meal I’ve ever had. The steak was cooked to perfection, the French fries were perfect, and the garlic mashed potatoes were amazing. 10/10 would recommend! Great staff, quick service, and unique atmosphere!

Excellent excellent food and top notch service!!

The barn itself is really nice. We got there around 6 pm. The place wasn't busy, we were then seated. The waitress asked what we wanted to drink, and in a reasonable time the drinks came. It was a good 20 minutes before we saw her again. We ordered an appetizer and that took 15 minutes. Then after we were there for one hour, we finally was asked if we were ready to order. After we ordered, It took 45 minutes before we were told by the waitress our food was just being made. 30 minutes later the food finally showed up. All this time the tables around us that ordered after us were served. We should of been given something if not all of our meals free. Not even an apology or a reason why this happened. Will I go back? Probably not.

Arrived at 8pm on a Wednesday night it was just was us and 2 other couples. Jordan our server was fantastic. Food and the pig sty dessert were awesome! I stumbled upon this restaurant on Facebook and I am so glad I did. We'll be going back!

Great service, really good food, prices reasonable

Saltiest burger I have ever had in my life. I had Rooster burger. I ate third of it and brought home for dog. Most salty thing period, I have ever had in my life. My daughter ordered steak and shrimp for $27 because she requires gluten free. Tiny plate of food. Steak was so chewy we brought it home for dog to eat, and the shrimp were overcooked. Out of items on the menu when we asked for two different items. Not a enjoyable meal. Fries were good though... Don't care to go back for awhile...

Excellent atmosphere! It's really a unique experience and the place really stands out on it's own. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The food is great as well. It's a must stop if you haven't been. You won't be disappointed. I would recommend calling in a reservation ahead of time. It's a popular place and sometimes there's a wait if you don't.

This was are second time there. The food and service was great. Can't wait to try something else. Save enough room for their deserts​. Had the Pig stie pie GREAT!

We went because of the Fact that it was s Old Barn that was restored and for the Like "Grant Wood". Scenery ! They did a Fantastic job of keeping the Original 'layout" and Completely staying "TRUE with Beautiful open wooden Rafters, Beans and coragated tin on the stall walls. Loved the atmosphere and the service and Food was good

The staff was great, very neat theme. Food was cooked very well, I had the ribeye and the wife had the prime rib. The meat had zero taste and we weren’t very impressed. Way over priced!!

It smelled like amazing food the second we walked in!! The barn and the setting made it worth the trip!! Just darling!! The staff was great!! They where slammed right when we got there but instead of just keeping busy waiting they sent someone to tell us why and how long we would wait. NICE TOUCH!¡. The food was great! We will be back as we r anxious to try other yummy things! Well worth the 45 min drive!

Beautiful venue. Service was great. Just don't order the prime rib. On a medium rare piece the cap was well done. Not sure how that happens unless maybe a microwave???The side dishes were very good

Great food, a fun time. We ate at tables in the lower level cuz you have to climb a large stairway to get to the regular eating area.

Absolutely LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!! It is a destination place just outside of Anamosa and it is worth the drive! Excellent food, great drinks and the environment is GORGEOUS! We especially Love the Christmas decor!

My fiance and I visited and we were seated at the bar and waited an hour for a table. Once we were finally seated,we placed our order right away. But yet we waited an hour for our food. When the food finally arrived,it was not even hot. I do not recommend you go there. It was a huge damper on our Valentine's day celebration.

Went as a family on a Sunday afternoon. The menu encouraged wandering so the kids did and took lots of pictures. The food is delicious and the servings are pretty generous. Besides the menu photos I have added they also have specials. Will have to visit again during warmer weather and do outdoor seating.

Unique atmosphere and sort fun. We were there in a Sunday night and they were out of several things. The food was good and it was a fun time.

The appearance of the place is really cool. If you’re going out for a nice dinner and sightseeing, come sight see here, then go somewhere else for dinner. I was not pleased with my order. The salad was better than my ribeye steak. I ordered a ribeye cooked medium; with steamed broccoli. The ribeye came out well done and chilled, and very bland. The broccoli was hard, and honestly gross. One bite of the broccoli was enough for me. I would have rather stopped at Caseys for a overgreased slice of pizza then this nasty meal here. The service was subpar, although the server was friendly, when she came over. The high prices of food does not match the bad quality of food. For being the only customers in the establishment at this time, the food and overall service could have been a lot better. The highlight of the meal is that the salad was delicious and my one glass of water didn’t taste like dish soap.
